These days, we talk a lot about eco-friendly products and processes and what each and every one of us can do to be kinder to the environment.
Most of us know that eating vegetables and legumes is a better choice for the environment than loading up the plate with steaks or Swedish meatballs, and already today, around 95% of the food in the world comes from soil. Which is great, because if we keep shifting to a more plant-based diet, the food we produce can be enough for more people.
However, what we rarely talk about is the soil itself, which is a shame, because it’s a real environmental hero. For an example, did you know that the world’s soil holds at least two times as much carbon as the atmosphere and can help us meet the challenges of a changing climate? That’s what we call some true heroic acts.
Will you celebrate World Soil Day? How?
