The house is for those who will live in it – that’s the philosophy whenever ByggVesta develops new apartment buildings. That means they need to be what the tenants want them to be, which makes it super important that we do our ground work properly, finding out how the tenants-to-be want to use their common spaces. At Aurora, we’re co-operating with interior decoration agency Esteriör to create an inviting lounge.
We’re co-operating with Esteriör
A while ago, ByggVesta reached out to interior decoration agency Esteriör (keep your eyes peeled for an interview with them here on the blog!) to get some help to create a lounge which feels safe and welcoming – and suits the tenants’ needs. They’re a great match for us since they’re also convinced that spaces need to be personal – and they care a lot about the environment, just like us!
Together with the Esteriör crew, we used the three open house nights at Aurora in the beginning of summer to talk to tenants-to-be to see what they wanted in terms of esthetics and use. After many (many, many) talks and filled out forms, one thing was clear: everyone wants different things. Oh, my. Luckily, the Esteriör crew were totally cool and started brainstorming for solutions right away.
So, what’s it gonna to be like anyway?
Well, our building site in Ektorp is still very much that, but things are moving along quickly and soon, Esteriör will be able to do their magic with personal and environmentally smart solutions indoors and outside on the patio.
The Aurora lounge will surely be a room with several rooms in it – since there are so many different needs and wants (from studying to Ping-Pong games and movie nights) as well as the group of people (Aurora will be both student accommodation and young adult apartments), that’s the best solution to cater to all of them without making it feel chaotic 😬
What we absolutely know is that it’s going to be a lounge which feels safe and where it feels natural to interact with others. Those of you who will be living in Aurora will meet tons of people you don’t know, every day. So wouldn’t it be nice with a space where interacting with others feels a little easier?
